The company is funded by leading institutions including Andreessen Horowitz, GIC, Goldman Sachs, KKR, and Visa, with its Series D valuation over $3 billion. With the evolving landscape of digital threats and an increasing volume of sophisticated attacks by malicious actors, we have a security policy mandating all new hires complete an in-person onboarding process - no exceptions. Security is our foundation and we prioritize physical identity verification and secure IT setup. While our security and IT logistics require physical presence to protect our infrastructure from sophisticated global threats, this move is equally about our Village culture. We believe that a laptop can be shipped, but our culture cannot.
As the Head of Global Markets, you are a foundational leader within our Prime Services business. Reporting directly to the Global Head of Prime Services, you are responsible for the strategic vision, P&L, and institutional scaling of the Global Markets division. This role is designed for a builder who has successfully managed business units generating $100M+ in annual revenue and oversaw substantial institutional-scale balance sheets.
You will lead a high-performing organization of 20+ professionals, ranging from junior staff to Managing Directors. You must be comfortable building and deeply understanding the product at a technical level, with the unique ability to navigate selling ahead-driving revenue where the product is now while simultaneously building a pipeline for where the product will be. This role requires a leader who thrives in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment, can navigate the sophisticated requirements of the world's largest institutional clients, and takes ultimate responsibility for the division's risk profile through deep partnership with the Risk team.
Technical Skills:
  • Applied Expertise: Leverage deep knowledge of Global Markets, including Spot, Prime Financing, and Derivatives, to provide strategic direction for the division within a 24/7 global trading cycle.
  • Risk Management Leadership: Act as the primary owner of the division's risk mandate, staying on top of market, credit, and operational risks while partnering closely with the Risk team to establish robust guardrails.
  • Capital Optimization: Direct the optimization and allocation of substantial institutional capital, ensuring sophisticated liquidity management and capital efficiency across all desks.
  • Revenue Engineering: Lead a business unit with a mandate to exceed $100M+ in annual revenue, driving sustainable growth through market cycles.
  • Product Architecture: Develop a deep functional understanding of the products being built, ensuring the ability to bridge the gap between technical Product and Engineering teams and institutional client needs.
  • IPO-Grade Scaling: Apply experience from high-growth, late-stage, or public companies to architect a division that meets the highest standards of governance and institutional scrutiny.

Complexity and Impact of Work:
  • Strategic Risk Partnership: Proactively identify emerging risks and collaborate with the Risk and Compliance functions to design mitigation strategies that support aggressive business growth without compromising firm safety.
  • Dual-Track Revenue Strategy: Master the ability to drive revenue based on the current product state while strategically building the pipeline for future infrastructure and services.
  • Leader of Leaders: Proven ability to build, mentor, and manage a team of 20+ professionals, establishing a hierarchy that fosters growth for everyone from junior staff to Managing Directors.
  • Strategic Path Ownership: Serve as the ultimate decision-maker for the Global Markets division's strategy, determining the methods necessary to move the business forward against significant growth targets.
  • 24/7 Operational Resilience: Demonstrate the stamina and strategic foresight to lead a division that operates around the clock in a fast-moving, high-volatility environment.

Organizational Knowledge:
  • Commercial Synergy: Partner deeply with the Head of Global Market Sales to align product offerings with client demand, ensuring the firm meets and exceeds revenue targets.
  • Risk Alignment: Cultivate deep organizational knowledge across Legal, Risk, and Compliance to ensure Global Markets initiatives are seamlessly integrated and prioritized firm-wide.
  • Institutional Navigation: Cultivate senior-level influence to ensure that infrastructure reconfigurations align with the strategic needs of the world's largest institutional clients.
  • Culture and Morale: Serve as a cultural champion, building high morale and a sense of mission within the Global Markets team to ensure a cohesive and resilient division.

Communication and Influence:
  • Executive Leadership Alignment: Act as the primary liaison for the Global Markets division to the Global Head of Prime Services and the broader Executive Leadership team.
  • External Authority: Represent the firm as a Subject Matter Expert in global forums and regulatory discussions, specifically regarding the convergence of traditional and digital market infrastructure.
  • Consensus Builder: Cross direct team and functional boundaries to gain consensus on strategy and prioritization, effectively acting as a gatekeeper for market execution.
  • Mentorship of Leaders: Dedicate significant effort to coaching Business Leaders and Managing Directors, ensuring a robust talent pipeline and a culture of continuous learning.

You may be a fit for this role if you have:
  • Experience: 12-15+ years of senior leadership in Global Markets or Prime Services at a top-tier investment bank, hedge fund, or major digital asset platform.
  • Revenue Track Record: Direct experience building or managing a business unit with $100M+ in annual revenue.
  • Management Scale: Proven experience managing a team of 20+ professionals, including the management of other Managing Directors.
  • Balance Sheet Scale: Direct experience managing substantial institutional-scale balance sheets.
  • Product Mastery: Deep functional understanding of Spot, Prime Financing, and Derivatives, with the ability to understand and speak to the underlying technical architecture.
  • Growth Background: Experience navigating the growth journey of a company toward an IPO or significant liquidity event.
  • Crypto and Global Market Acumen: A sophisticated understanding of digital asset market structure and the stamina to lead in a 24/7, high-growth environment.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a quantitative field; MBA or CFA is highly preferred.

Although not a requirement, bonus points if:
You were emotionally moved by the soundtrack to Hamilton, which chronicles the founding of a new financial system. :)
