Please review the following job description:
The Head of Development is the executive engineering leader responsible for all development functions within our centralized AI capability delivery organization - spanning application engineering, data engineering, full-stack delivery, platform integration, and the engineering quality bar that governs how production AI-enabled capabilities are built, tested, and released.
This role owns the engineering organization, delivery culture, technical standards, hiring and team development, cross-functional delivery execution, and the operational discipline required to ship AI capabilities at enterprise scale and startup speed. The Head of Development is a builder-leader: deeply technical, operationally rigorous, and capable of setting direction while staying close enough to the work to drive real engineering excellence.
Daily work includes leading engineering teams, setting delivery standards and architecture direction, managing engineering roadmap execution, partnering with product and security leadership, driving hiring and capability development, and ensuring the Forge development function delivers production-ready AI capabilities that meet the highest standards of quality, security, and operational reliability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
  • Own development function - providing executive leadership, organizational design, delivery standards, and operational discipline across all engineering teams and workstreams.
  • Set the technical direction, architecture standards, engineering quality bar, and release readiness expectations for application, data, full-stack, and platform engineering at the Forge.
  • Drive delivery execution across engineering - managing sprint cadences, resolving delivery blockers, enforcing accountability, and ensuring the organization ships production-ready AI capabilities on committed timelines.
  • Build and develop a high-performing engineering organization through hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, career development, and team culture investment.
  • Partner with the Head of Technology, Head of Agentic Design, Head of Product, and AI Security Lead to ensure engineering delivery is aligned to strategic priorities, security standards, and business outcomes.
  • Own the engineering operating model - including team structure, delivery ceremonies, technical governance, code review standards, CI/CD practices, observability requirements, and release controls.
  • Drive cross-functional delivery alignment across engineering, product, security, QA, data, platform, and enablement teams to ensure AI capabilities move from design to production with speed and reliability.
  • Represent engineering in senior leadership forums, governance reviews, architecture discussions, and stakeholder communications - translating technical delivery reality into clear executive-facing updates.
  • Manage engineering budget, tooling, vendor relationships, and resource allocation in alignment with Forge delivery priorities and enterprise financial governance.
  • Continuously improve engineering processes, delivery velocity, code quality, observability, and operational maturity as the Forge AI portfolio scales.
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, psychological safety, continuous learning, and accountability across the development organization.
