The Head of Category Development and Enablement is a senior enterprise leader within the Center of Excellence (COE), operating as a shared services function for Pilgrim's and JBS USA across Beef, Pork, Chicken, and Value-Added / Prepared Foods business.

Role & Responsibilities
LONG-TERM / STRATEGIC CATEGORY DEVELOPMENT
Owns enterprise category development and enablement processes, frameworks, and discipline, enabling aligned decision-making across business units while preserving functional and P&L ownership.
Category, Business & Channel Strategy
  • Lead the category strategy development process across Beef, Pork, Chicken, and Value-Added / Prepared Foods.
  • Define category roles, growth horizons, and where-to-play / how-to-win logic by channel.
  • Enable alignment across Sales, Marketing, RGM, and Operations through shared strategic frameworks.
Consumer, Customer & Insight Development
  • Establish a single enterprise view of consumer, customer, and operator insights.
  • Translate insights into prioritized opportunity spaces with clear strategic and economic logic.
  • Ensure consistent application of insights across strategy and GTM planning.
Innovation & Portfolio Strategy Enablement
  • Connect category opportunity spaces to innovation platforms and R&D pipelines.
  • Provide structured opportunity definitions to support stage-gate and portfolio decisions.
  • Ensure portfolio choices align with category and channel strategy.
Commercial Operating Model & Capability
  • Own the category development and enablement operating model, tools, and routines.
  • Build category fluency and commercial discipline across Pilgrim's and JBS USA.
  • Standardize how insight, strategy, and execution integrate across the enterprise.
SHORT-TERM / ENABLEMENT & COMMERCIAL ACTIVATION
  • Build and execute our GTM plan, with clear market pipeline ownership wiht effective business development routine.
  • Develop category selling stories, customer narratives, and playbooks.
  • Equip Sales with tools, training, and routines to simplify execution.
  • Ensure strategies translate into executable market actions.
SHORT-TERM - PERFORMANCE SUPPORT & INTERVENTION
  • Diagnose category, channel, or customer performance gaps using fact-based analysis.
  • Convene cross-functional partners to align on corrective actions.
  • Support mix, assortment, pricing, and GTM interventions.
  • Ensure interventions align with long-term category strategy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years in category development, insights, enablement, or commercial strategy roles.
  • Proven success operating in shared services or COE models.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and executive communication skills.
  • Multi-protein food or CPG experience strongly preferred.
  • Current internal JBS/Pilgrim's experience strongly preferred.
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
  • Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $174,000-$211,000;
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company's annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program; and

The posted salary range represents the Company's good faith estimate of the compensation that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, qualifications, tenure, internal equity, market data, and may vary accordingly.
