Founding Head of Developer Growth

Hellyeah AI Inc

San Francisco, CA • On-site

Full-time

Posted 6 hours ago

Job description

Hellyeah AI - hellyeahai.com
San Francisco Bay Area (You will be building this brand new office with our stellar team as we value your taste)
Hellyeah AI is building AI-native growth and marketing infrastructure for the next generation of fast-growing companies. Tools like text-to-app, code generation, and agentic workflows are collapsing the cost of building. As creation gets easier, distribution becomes the new moat.
We are building the growth layer for that future.
Our belief is simple: the next generation of builders will not just prompt software into existence. They will also expect growth, distribution, testing, and launch execution to become agentic.
Hellyeah exists to make that real.
The Role
We are hiring a Founding Head of Developer Growth to own adoption across the builder ecosystem.
This is not a conventional DevRel role.
This is not a lightweight community role.
This is not a generic partnerships role.
You will be responsible for turning Hellyeah from a product into a developer growth movement.
You will drive downloads, activation, ecosystem penetration, and community-led distribution by working across:
  • hackathons and launch programs
  • ecosystem partnerships
  • developer communities
  • ambassador networks
  • builder education and content
  • product feedback loops
  • grassroots distribution

You will work closely with the founders and operate as one of the core people shaping how Hellyeah wins.
We want a killer.
And you will have unlimited budget.
What You'll Own
  • Design and run adoption programs that drive real product usage
  • Launch hackathons, build challenges, demo contests, and ecosystem campaigns
  • Build strategic relationships with AI-native builder platforms and developer ecosystems
  • Get Hellyeah embedded into the workflows and communities of tools like Lovable, Bolt, Replit, Cursor, and similar platforms
  • Create community loops that convert interest into downloads, activation, and advocacy
  • Develop ambassador, champion, and power-user programs
  • Build trust with developer communities through credibility, speed, and real usefulness
  • Partner with product and growth teams to turn field insights into product improvements
  • Define the operating playbook for developer growth from 0 to 1
Who this role is for
This role is for someone who wants to build, not inherit. You might be a former founding AE, first revenue hire, hybrid growth-and-sales operator, or ex-founder with very strong commercial instincts. You know how to sell products that are new, imperfect, and not yet fully understood by the market.
You are excited by AI and what is possible with it. You do not wait for a fully formed brand, mature playbook, or big team before moving. You know how to get signal from messy environments and turn that into traction. You care about pipeline, customers, and revenue. You are channel-agnostic and outcome-driven.
What We're Looking For
  • Strong experience in developer products, ecosystem growth, DevRel, product-led growth, or community-led growth
  • Track record of driving real adoption, not just awareness
  • Experience with early-stage or fast-moving startup environments
  • Deep intuition for how developer tools spread
  • Ability to engage founders, developers, ecosystem operators, and technical partners credibly
  • High-agency operator who can create momentum from scratch
  • Comfortable in ambiguity and biased toward action
  • Strong understanding of builder workflows, internet-native communities, and AI-native product ecosystems
  • Bonus if you can code, ship demos, work in CLI environments, or have experience with APIs / open source / SDK / developer tooling
What Great Looks Like
In this role, success does not look like:
  • vanity partnerships
  • passive communities
  • event volume without usage
  • content without conversion

Success looks like:
  • meaningful SDK downloads
  • strong activation rates
  • repeat usage from builders
  • ecosystem integrations that matter
  • community-generated content and advocacy
  • Hellyeah becoming a default recommendation inside builder circles
Who Will Not Enjoy This Role
This role is probably not for you if:
  • you want a slow-moving, process-heavy environment
  • you prefer managing programs over creating momentum
  • you are strong at relationship maintenance but weak at driving outcomes
  • you need perfect clarity before acting
  • you want a DevRel title without owning growth
Why This Role Matters
We believe AI is changing how products are built.
We also believe it will change how products grow.
If software creation is becoming agentic, growth will too.
This role is about helping define that future.
How to Reach Out
Send us:
  • a short note on why you are relevant
  • examples of ecosystems, communities, or products you helped grow
  • proof of adoption you have driven
  • anything you have built, launched, or made spread

We are not looking for polished corporate applicants.
We are looking for people who know how to make things move. Super competitive pay and significant equity.
