Job description

Head Of Cultivation

Viridian Staffing's client is looking for a quality and data-driven Head of Cultivation for an indoor grow operation in the Sedona, Arizona, area. As Head of Cultivation, you will be responsible for the leadership and organization for all cultivation activities in the grow operation. You will direct and oversee the employee activities for all operations from propagation, planting and cultivating, to irrigation, harvesting, and record keeping. You should have a "roll up your sleeves" attitude in order to be successful in this operation and are very passionate about quality yields and continuous improvement. You will be expected to refine and enforce existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in an effort to advance the Company's mission. Using your knowledge of Arizona Cannabis regulations and OSHA rules, you will ensure adherence to compliance and safety regulations by all employees. Using your proven experience with organic living soil meeting or exceeding yield expectations, you will plan and direct operations for optimum quality crop production. As a successful people manager known for inspiring your employees, you enjoy hiring, training, and coaching employees in all aspects of the grow operation. The ideal Head Grower will have 5+ years of successful commercial cannabis cultivation experience, with at least 2+ years of that experience as a people manager in a cultivation environment. You have managed indoor cultivation facilities of at least 20k+ square feet of canopy which use organic living soil. You have experience with both HPS and LED lighting. You have phenomenal communication skills and enjoy being part of a team, versus only spending time with the plants. Ideally, you'll have a degree in horticulture or agronomy. You are an expert when it comes to climate control and understand crop planning and scheduling. It is preferred that you understand the climate complexities of the Southwest. If you love all aspects of managing a grow cycle, mentoring/managing the people who also have a strong passion for growing, and developing your direct reports, then we'd love to see your resume to be considered for this opportunity!
