Position Overview

Soothing Sanctuary Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our well-respected outpatient practice located in Babylon, New York. This full-time, remote position is ideal for compassionate mental health professionals excited about making a significant impact in the lives of individuals dealing with mood disorders. Work Environment

Our operational hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, ensuring that you work during standard business hours. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth assessments to evaluate clientsโ€™ mental health, focusing on the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with clients that align with their unique needs, preferences, and therapeutic goals.
  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to address mood disorders effectively.
  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, and proactive self-care strategies, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery process.
  • Monitor and assess clientsโ€™ progress continuously, making adjustments to their treatment plans as required to optimize outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare providers to ensure a cohesive and integrated treatment approach.
  • Stay abreast of the latest research and methodologies in mood disorder treatment to enhance the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.
  • Maintain precise and confidential documentation of client interactions, assessments, and treatment plans, in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development activities to hone clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Advocate for clients and work towards reducing the stigma associated with mental health disorders while promoting their rights and needs.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with clients suffering from various mood disorders, including depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related disorders. Our diverse patient population reflects different backgrounds and experiences, requiring you to apply culturally sensitive approaches to therapy. Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York state.
  • Proficient in standardized, evidence-based treatment modalities, particularly in managing mood disorders.
  • Exceptional understanding of psychopharmacology, enabling effective collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Strong track record of achieving successful treatment outcomes in mood disorder management.
