Job Description:

With this strategy, GDIT is expanding its investments in digital accelerators, emerging technology, and centers of excellence. The corporate development team is expanding to enable the acceleration of rapid deployment of mission critical technologies to meet customer demands.

The Director of Corporate Development, in partnership with the Vice President of Corporate Development, will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and executing opportunities that will align with GDIT's long-term strategic priorities.

This role offers a unique opportunity to influence GDIT's future landscape, drive enterprise growth through M&A activity, and take part in transformative initiatives across the GovCon IT Services marketplace. As the Director of Corporate Development, this executive will:

  • Work with business executives to develop and refine the company's inorganic growth strategy, identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets to build and execute against GDIT's strategic pipeline.

  • Monitor and track market dynamics, competitor actions, and innovation trends to enable informed strategic decisions.

  • Influence GDIT's Growth and Technology organizations to align with inorganic growth strategies and translate strategic customer business needs by providing an informed view of the future into investment strategies that include acquisitions, investments, and partnerships.

  • Drive strategy development, target acquisition market analysis, due diligence and company evaluation.

  • Work with GDIT's Emerging Tech and Partnership organizations to expand knowledge of, and potential future relationships with, technology companies that may help forward GDIT's market strategy.

  • Partner with internal and external advisors to assess quality of earnings, revenue durability, margin sustainability, and risk. Work closely with the General Counsel to confirm transaction approach and evaluation.

  • In collaboration with the VP of Corporate Development, lead cross-functional diligence processes spanning finance, legal, contracts, security, compliance, HR, and IT to ensure comprehensive risk assessment and clean transaction execution.

  • Drive alignment with the CEO, CFO, BD, and operating leaders to anchor acquisition and venture strategies in customer demand, capability gaps, and longterm platform priorities - converting market intelligence into decisive capital deployment.

  • Be accountable for rigorous financial analysis, market assessment, and strategic execution.

  • Utilize approved AI platforms to accelerate diligence lifecycles.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related field

  • Required Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or transaction advisory, with demonstrated GovCon exposure

  • Strong understanding of government contracting business models, contract structures, and regulatory environment

  • Experience leading, structuring, and negotiating M&A, joint ventures, and equity investments transactions in the aerospace, defense, and government services or technology market

  • Excellent deal process management, problem solving and organizational skills; proven track record contributing to closing transactions

  • Proven experience managing multiple workstreams across complex transactions

  • Perform preliminary assessments of targets, including strategic alignment, customer concentration, contract vehicles, and competitive positioning

  • Embody a strategic, analytical, and hands-on mission and execution-driven mindset to help drive GDIT"s inorganic growth strategy

  • Comfort operating in a consensus-driven, large and complex IT Services or Consulting organization with the ability to pivot when necessary

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization as well as externally with technology partners, Private Equity and Venture Capital firms

  • Strong communication skills, executive presence and ability to operate strategically while driving tactical execution in M&A deals

  • Ability to work proactively and independently in complex and fast-paced environments

  • Exemplary attention to detail in all aspects of work product

  • Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance

  • Location: Hybrid (at least 3 days/week in person) to Falls Church, Virginia office

The likely salary range for this position is $170,000 - $230,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
