Job description

Job Overview
This position is for the Infant Room. The Teacher Assistant position in an early childhood education setting who supports the head teacher in providing care, education, and supervision for young children. The role involves helping implement The Creative Curriculum and Reggio Approach, assisting with child assessments and documentation, and ensuring a safe, healthy, and developmentally supportive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language growth. The teacher assistant also communicates with families, contributes to classroom management, and steps into full head teacher responsibilities when needed. Additional expectations include maintaining professionalism, supporting program quality, and completing ongoing professional development requirements.

Required Certification/License/Experience
  • CDA credential with some teaching experience in an early childhood program preferred and the willingness to start a program to obtain an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education within six months of employment.
  • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education a plus.
  • Must acquire 20 hours of professional development annually.

Preferred Certification/License/Experience
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification and NAEYC Membership preferred.

Shift: Days, no holidays or weekends
