A head chef oversees the kitchen of a restaurant or other dining facility. They are the top of the chef chain-of-command in most establishments; larger restaurants have an executive chef above the head chef. As head chef, you control inventory and order supplies to ensure they are replenished, develop menu items, and train and manage staff. While you may supervise the cooking and completion of dishes in the kitchen, the day-to-day operations are usually handled by someone lower down the chef hierarchy, such as the sous chef.

Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff
- Adhere to menus and recipes, special dietary needs, correct portioning of food, food presentation, and proper serving methods as instructed by the executive chef
- Attend to residents' individual dietary needs when taking and delivering food orders from residents and their guests
- Maintain comfort, privacy, and dignity of our residents
- Work under the supervision of and take instruction from the executive chef and sous chef
Requirements:
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- High school diploma, GED, or 1-3 months related experience or training preferred
- Must submit and pass all applicable pre-employment and annual tests and meet all training and other applicable state and federal guidelines
