Job Description

Mortar & Pestle, the craft cocktail bar at Curry Up Now San Mateo opened earlier this year to rave reviews.  We are the premier craft cocktail bar in the Peninsula.  We are looking for a Beverage Director-Head Bartender to help run the bar in San Mateo as well as oversee and manage the low proof cocktail programs at our San Francisco and Palo Alto locations.  Our next restaurant opens in San Jose later this year with a huge bar program.  The Beverage Director will manage all 4 bars.

Qualifications

You must be passionate about cocktails with at least 3 years of bartending experience and 1 year of management experience.  This job comes with the responsibility of not only intimately managing Mortar & Pestle in San Mateo but also the low proof programs at the other locations.  This position presents an opportunity to our new employee to further enhance his/her craft cocktail skills while working with BitterCube, our bar consultants.

  • Be able to drive to all our locations
  • Be available to close San Mateo restaurant no less than 1-2 times a week
