The Land Acquisition Manager is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and securing residential land opportunities across Texas, while leading market analysis, financial underwriting, and due diligence to support strategic investment decisions. This role also involves managing key stakeholder relationships, presenting acquisition strategies to leadership, and maintaining visibility into the land pipeline and portfolio performance.
 
This position is located in the Precedent Land Company division office located in Houston, TX.

What You’ll Be Doing Each Day 
  • Land Acquisition & Market Strategy - Identify, evaluate, and track residential land acquisition opportunities across Texas, including monitoring regional land transactions, interpreting zoning and land use regulations, and conducting competitive market and feasibility analyses.
  • • Relationship & Stakeholder Management - Develop and maintain strategic relationships with landowners, brokers, consultants, municipalities, utility districts, and other key industry partners to source opportunities and support project execution.
  • • Financial Underwriting & Investment Analysis - Lead underwriting efforts for potential acquisitions, including preparation of market studies, financial pro formas, and investment narratives to support acquisition decisions and maximize asset performance.
  • • Due Diligence & Entitlement Coordination - Manage comprehensive due diligence processes, including environmental, title, survey, utility, drainage, geotechnical, and regulatory reviews to ensure risk mitigation and project viability.
  • • Investment Committee & Strategic Planning Support - Prepare and present Investment Committee materials, including executive summaries, market overviews, site visuals, and financial analyses for both new acquisitions and ongoing projects.
  • • Pipeline & Portfolio Management - Maintain and update land pipeline reports, lot contract summaries, and community-level pro formas to provide ongoing visibility into portfolio performance and business planning.
