Job Summary: As the Training and HCM Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing training and development activities within Broulim's while serving as a key specialist and support resource for the company's HCM system. This position will develop and implement training programs, create and maintain onboarding processes, support consistent training alignment across departments, and ensure the HCM system is maintained accurately and effectively.
The Training and HCM Specialist will collaborate with the Director of HR, department managers, and subject matter experts to identify training needs, maintain accurate employee information, support HCM processes and workflows, generate reports, and utilize technology to improve HR and training operations. This role will also assist employees and managers with HCM-related questions and provide guidance on system functionality and processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Training and Development
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for employees at all levels of the company.

  • Create and manage onboarding programs to ensure new hires are effectively integrated into the company and equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.

  • Collaborate with department managers and subject matter experts to identify training needs and tailor programs accordingly.

  • Conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars, both in-person and virtually.

  • Develop engaging training materials, presentations, job aids, flyers, kiosk messages and other learning resources.

  • Utilize Microsoft Suite, Adobe, Canva, Articulate, and other technology platforms to develop, manage, and enhance training materials and programs.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, making adjustments as needed.

  • Ensure consistent training alignment across departments to maintain high standards of service, safety, and operations.

  • Maintain detailed records of training activities, attendance, completion, and outcomes.

  • Monitor required training and assist managers with maintaining compliance with company training requirements.

  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in training, adult learning, and employee development.

HCM Administration and Support
  • Serve as one of the primary support resources for the company's HCM system and related HR technology.

  • Assist with ensuring accurate and timely employee information within the HCM system, including employee records, job information, organizational data, training records, and other applicable information.

  • Assist with the administration and maintenance of HCM system processes, workflows, forms, notifications, and user access.

  • Support onboarding, employee changes, transfers, promotions, status changes, and offboarding processes within the HCM system.

  • Provide guidance and technical support to employees and managers regarding HCM system functionality and HR processes.

  • Develop and maintain HCM reports and assist with data analysis to support HR and business decisions.

  • Support the implementation and facilitate training of system updates, enhancements, and new HCM functionality.

  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes through automation, technology, and effective use of HCM capabilities.

  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality and security of employee information and HR data.

  • Create and maintain documentation, procedures, and user resources related to HCM processes.

  • Collaborate with the Director of HR and other stakeholders on HR technology projects and process improvements.

Knowledge
  • In-depth understanding of training methodologies, adult learning principles, and instructional design.

  • Knowledge of onboarding processes and best practices for integrating new employees.

  • Working knowledge of Human Capital Management (HCM) systems and HR technology, experience with Dayforce is preferred.

  • Understanding of employee lifecycle processes, including hiring, onboarding, transfers, promotions, and offboarding.

  • Knowledge of HR data management, reporting, and maintaining accurate employee records.

  • Familiarity with HR technology trends, system implementation, process automation, and best practices.

  • Familiarity with industry trends and best practices in training and employee development.

  • Understanding of confidentiality requirements and the importance of protecting employee information.

Skills
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn, administer, and troubleshoot HCM and other HR technology systems.

  • Strong proficiency in data analysis, tracking, reporting, and data validation.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate employee and HR data.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and related tools.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate, Canva, or similar tools for creating engaging training materials.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple training, HCM, and HR projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to explain technical systems and processes in a clear and user-friendly manner.

  • Ability to work effectively with employees and managers at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Training and Development, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.

  • At least 2 years of experience in training and development, HR, HCM administration, or a related field, preferably within a retail or customer service environment.

  • Experience working with an HCM, HRIS, or similar employee management system. Dayforce experience preferred.

  • Experience creating training programs, onboarding materials, or other employee development resources.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate, Canva, or similar design and content-development tools preferred.

  • Strong understanding of instructional design and adult learning principles.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with demonstrated attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to learn new technology systems quickly and provide effective support to system users.
