SUPERINTENDENT EXPERIENCE BUILDING SELF-STORAGE FACILITIES IS A MUST

HBI Commercial Construction is seeking a Superintendent to join our team. We hire for the long term! We have multiple ongoing projects and we further your development and career along the way. The company was founded in 1978 with the purpose of providing construction services to the Southern California marketplace. Since that time HBI has evolved into a multi-dimensional general contractor, providing construction services to California.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preconstruction activities on projects; scope development, scheduling and estimating.
  • Orchestrate a plan from the beginning of construction to completion of the project, including accurately projecting construction activities for scheduling purposes.
  • Maintain and manage project schedule
  • Interpret drawings, details of drawings, and specifications.
  • Achieve objectives through direction of individuals, teams, and sub-contractors.
  • Work with senior management, track job progress and job costs.
  • Complete daily reports and daily safety inspections.
  • Submit all documentation (RFI’s, as-builts, pictures, etc.) as required.
  • Direct, coordinate, and facilitate meetings for owners, subcontractors, architects, and local authorities.
  • Manage all punch list items. Insure that all outstanding punch list items for a job are completed on time.
  • Effectively use CSI format through the construction process.
  • Provide general estimates for construction materials based on volume, areas, elevations, cubic areas, square foot areas, and framing materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to travel to projects located in Southern California.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum five (5) years commercial construction superintendent.
  • Preferred experience: Ground up, onsite and offsite, concrete tilt and/or self-storage projects.
  • Must complete 30H OSHA training.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and other computer software programs/apps.
