Job description

Candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor's level education in psychology, counseling, sociology, social work, or related field.

Our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team is in search of a dedicated Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) to become part of our team! This is a full-time position within an existing team aimed at providing effective, community-centered mental health services within a multidisciplinary framework.

A Note About Shift Availability:

Shifts will range from early morning, mid morning, and mid day. This includes an on call after hours rotation and flexing hours as necessary. Additionally, since we will be operating 7 days a week, this will include working some holidays.

Your desired shift can be discussed upon interview.

What You’ll Do:
  • Provide direct mental health services in various community settings
  • Support clients through intensive case management & treatment planning
  • Deliver crisis intervention (including on-call rotation)
  • Offer skills training, psychosocial rehabilitation, medication education and assist participants with medication management
  • Assist with community integration
  • Provide participant transportation
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Complete intakes including consent, ANSA, and recovery plan
  • Teach individuals how to advocate for themselves in multiple environments
  • Enjoy a team approach where you will have another staff member with you when going to most places in the community, including clients' homes and other unfamiliar locations.
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strong understanding of mental health diagnoses & treatment
  • Familiarity with recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and person-centered care
  • Be willing to learn about different facets of harm reduction and its foundational principles
  • Ability to build rapport and engage clients from diverse backgrounds
  • Use of motivational interviewing, strengths-based approaches, and de- escalation techniques
  • Clear, professional verbal and written communication
  • Active listening and nonjudgmental, empathetic responses
  • Organizational skills and proficient in technology
  • Develop a strong understanding of clinical documentation and electronic health records and systems such as Netsmart, CMBHS, and Pigeon
  • Be willing to learn the names and uses for common physical and mental health medications
  • Stay up to date on all in person and online trainings

  • Be able to drive company vehicle which will include maintaining a current Texas drivers license, Texas liability insurance, and driver trainings
