What You'll Do

As a Senior Mortgage Banker / Mortgage Loan Originator, you'll play a key role in growing Harborstone's mortgage business while helping members achieve one of life's most important milestones—homeownership.

You will:

  • Originate high-quality mortgage loans from both internal member referrals and external sources
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Realtors, builders, financial professionals, and other referral partners
  • Guide borrowers through the mortgage process from application to closing
  • Deliver exceptional service and expert mortgage advice
  • Ensure complete and accurate loan submissions with minimal revisions
  • Collaborate closely with Loan Operations to create a seamless member experience

What Success Looks Like

You are a relationship-builder who thrives on generating business and delivering results.

Key success metrics include:

  • Work toward a monthly loan production goal of approximately $1MM
  • Maintaining accurate, complete loan files with minimal operational exceptions
  • Generating new opportunities through your referral network
  • Earning positive feedback from members, partners, and teammates
  • Growing referral volume through outstanding communication and service

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of successful mortgage origination experience
  • Proven track record of mortgage production and business development
  • Established external referral network and book of business
  • Strong knowledge of residential mortgage products, guidelines, and regulations
  • Current NMLS registration
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and sales skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Encompass LOS and CRM platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Passion for delivering exceptional member experiences

Physical Considerations

  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal, written, and electronic formats with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and respond to written and verbal instructions and information.
  • May be required to sit or stand for extended periods, depending on job duties.
  • May involve repetitive motions, including keyboarding and handling office equipment.
  • May require stooping, bending, squatting, or reaching occasionally.
  • May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to navigate office environments, including walking between workstations, meeting rooms, and member service areas.
