Job description

Hanover Foods is seeking a dependable and versatile Utility Person to join our Production team on First Shift. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and is comfortable supporting multiple production areas. As a Utility Person, you'll assist with line setup, fill in for various production positions, and help keep operations running efficiently and safely.

What You'll Do
  • Assist Leadpersons with production line setup and changeovers.
  • Fill in for various production positions as assigned by the Supervisor or Leadperson.
  • Operate production equipment, including the Depalletizer (Depal) Machine.
  • Operate a forklift and electric pallet jack when trained and required.
  • Support ingredient handling and container handling operations.
  • Perform the duties of a Closing Machine Operator and assist with sauce preparation (brines) when needed.
  • Prepare concentrate, understand bean soaking procedures, and operate processing vessels as required.
  • Perform heavy lifting and material handling throughout the shift.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Report equipment or safety concerns immediately.
  • Follow all food safety, GMP, HACCP, sanitation, quality, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production operations.

Required
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to accurately record production information.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a variety of production environments.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work overtime as business needs require.
  • Commitment to working safely.

Preferred
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing or food processing facility.
  • Previous leadership or leadperson experience.
  • Experience operating production equipment or powered industrial equipment is a plus.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting throughout the workday.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, squat, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to work around production equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
