Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITION
Join our team at Hanover Foods Corporation as a Depalletizer Operator on the 2nd shift! We are looking for dedicated individuals to operate our automated depalletizer and ensure the smooth flow of products to our labeling lines. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive environment with room for growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate the automated depalletizer to ensure a smooth flow of products to the labeling lines.
  • Report any mechanical or safety issues to the Supervisor or Leadperson immediately.
  • Inspect products for can codes and manufacturing defects (e.g., bad seams, swells, dented cans).
  • Remove and neatly stack divider sheets from between layers of cans.
  • Maintain accurate and neat paperwork and forms.
  • Assist the forklift driver in securing cans on the top layer.
  • Operate and maintain the empty skid palletizer.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area.
  • Adhere to plant hygiene standards to ensure high product integrity.
  • Follow common safety practices and procedures, including wearing protective equipment.
  • Execute food safety, legality, and quality policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Leadperson.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to record data onto a spreadsheet.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills with management and co-workers.
  • Ability to work in various environments.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.
  • Good attendance record.
  • Safe work habits.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience working in a food processing facility.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, and use hands for handling and manipulating objects.
  • Ability to occasionally climb, crawl, squat, kneel, and bend.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 40 lbs occasionally.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

  • Occasionally exposed to extreme cold and heat (non-weather).
  • Frequently exposed to loud noise levels.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to read and understand documents, drawings, and instructions.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply them to practical situations.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others and deal politely and professionally with customers and co-workers.
