Job description

Hanover Foods Corporation - Centre Hall, PA, is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector C. The Quality Assurance Inspector C is responsible for monitoring and supporting product quality, food safety, sanitation, and housekeeping within the Plant and/or Laboratory. This entry role identifies and reports quality concerns, ensures compliance with established standards, and initiates corrective actions as needed.

The duties listed below are representative of the types of responsibilities required for the role. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the organization:
  • Performs pre-operational inspections to evaluate the sanitary condition of equipment and the production environment.
  • Conducts daily finished product grading against specifications; notifies Production of any nonconformance and maintains positive working relationships with Production and Warehouse teams.
  • Monitors and documents critical control points (e.g., blanching, metal detection, pH) in accordance with the current HACCP plan.
  • Inspects raw materials, ingredients, and packaging for quality and potential contamination; maintains accurate inspection records.
  • Draws production samples as required.
  • Maintains housekeeping standards and ensures the Laboratory's cleanliness and organization.
  • Collaborates with USDA Inspectors and customer representatives, as needed.
  • Stays current with customer requirements, USDA grade standards, company specifications, and other applicable food safety and quality protocols.
  • Supports and follows policies and procedures related to food safety, legality, quality, security, and compliance, including GMPs and HACCP.
  • Follows all established safety practices and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager and/or Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous Quality Assurance experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
  • Ability to work assigned shifts, including weekends, as needed.
