What Youโ€™ll Be Doing:

  • Your Mission: Load railcars safely and efficiently, all while ensuring smooth railcar movements at our Lima operation.
  • Be a Savvy Operator: Learn and follow our extensive rail operating procedures and policies after some top-notch training.
  • Choo-Choo Champion: You might even get to operate a locomotive! Don't worry; we'll train and certify you.
  • Ground Control: Switchman duties are on the horizon, and we'll provide the training and certification.
  • Multitasking Marvel: You'll juggle various tasks in the loading racks, from operating loading equipment to recording activities in our computer system.
  • Quality Control Enthusiast: Thoroughly inspect railcars before loading and take accurate samples of products, labeling and organizing them like a pro.
  • Safety First: Perform pre-shift maintenance walk-downs of the entire loading system to keep things running smoothly.

Requirements to Be Successful in This Position:

  • High School Grad or GED Equivalent: We're looking for graduates who are ready to learn the ropes.
  • Safety-First Mindset: Safety is our top priority; you've got to be all about it!
  • Train to Win: Be prepared to attend and pass various training courses, including OSHA, HazMat, and FRA-related courses.
  • Team Player: We're all about teamwork; you'll need to communicate and follow directions closely to meet facility needs.
  • No Experience? No Problem: Experience in the rail industry is cool, but if you're new to the game, we'll provide on-the-job training.
  • Flexible Schedule: Be ready for a rotating shift schedule, including holidays and weekends.
  • Background Check & Drug Screen: To join our crew, you'll need to clear our customer's background and drug screen requirements.

Here Are Some of The Physical Requirements for This Role:

  • Embrace the Elements: You'll work indoors and outdoors, so Mother Nature will be your companion.
  • Stay Active: Climbing on and off railcars and locomotives, operating railcar hand brakes, and navigating rail switches will keep you moving.
  • Be a Trailblazer: Get ready to walk and stand on uneven ballast surfaces for extended periods.
  • Lift with Ease: You should be able to lift 50 lbs. โ€“ no gym membership required!
  • Handy Helper: Basic hand tool skills will come in handy.
