As a hand polisher, your duties include polishing, grinding, sanding, and smoothing the surface of different objects made of glass, metal, stone, wood, and plastic, such as windows, jewelry, and stone ornamentation. Your responsibilities include calibrating and operating specialized grinding and smoothing equipment, such as power sanders and grinders, as well as using numerous other hand tools and materials, such as rags, cloth, and sandpaper. Some hand polishers work in production or manufacturing facilities, while others may work in smaller workshops or as part of landscaping or contracting crews.
