HVDC Machinist
1st Shift
2nd Shift
The opportunity
Hitachi Energy in Alamo, TN is seeking a Machinist to join its team in support of our new HVDC product line. This role is responsible for the machining of the 23-40 ft long epoxy-based condenser body
How you'll make an impact
  • Overhead crane trained or able to get certification to operate
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and specifications
  • Write, edit and optimize CNC programs using G-Code independently
  • Setup and Operate CNC lathes
  • Select proper feeds and speeds for the operation
  • Partner with engineering on tooling needs and specifications
  • Perform machine offsets, tool changes and program adjustments
  • Trouble shoot machine and program issues
  • Proficient with precision measuring equipment.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for training for 1-2 weeks if required.

Your background
  • Must have at least 2 years' experience writing programs using G code conversation and able to demonstrate proficiency
  • Have at least 3 years CNC lathe operation with demonstrated proficiency
  • Self-starter and works well without direct supervision
  • Lean manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strict adherence to safety protocols, policies and procedures
