Job description

GVI Inc, a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC, and a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, is seeking a Logistician II / Safety Officer to join our Team in White Sands Missile Range, NM. Overview: GVI is seeking a Safety professional to administer safety program. Ensuring adherence to safety and health regulations and standards.

Providing safety training and conducting audits to ensure compliance. Ensuring that contract meets safety and health requirements. Report on safety performance and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

This role is crucial for maintaining a safe working environment and preventing accidents. Position Responsibilities: * Perform and document GVI Safety initiatives to include the dates and actions taken for all Safety efforts. * Establish a recurring meeting with NAVSEA OSHA Specialist to obtain recommendations to improve GVI Safety program and build a Safety culture to ensure compliance with 29 CFR 1910, 29 CFR 1926 and applicable state and local requirements.

* Conduct periodic audits which include rigging and forklift operations, while ensuring all proper PPE is being worn for every operation. Review the implementation of the corrective actions and assess their effectiveness. * Provide monthly Safety refreshers topics.

* Performing monthly walk throughs to see good Housekeeping is being maintained. * Ensure all personnel follow the OSHA, Navy and GVI local Safety and health rules and regulations to maintain a safe work environment and to prevent mishaps from occurring. * Ensures potential hazards associated with the task are discussed with all employees, and other potentially affected personnel associated with the task prior to the start of work at the Safety brief, and routinely or as necessary thereafter.

* Ensures all employees adhere to the requirements of 29 CFR 1910, 29 CFR 1926 and applicable state and local requirements while in Government spaces. * Ensure that all on-site contractor work at the Government facility is in accordance with any local safety instructions as provided via the COR. * Upon completion of the Safety investigation the GVI Safety officer will document Lessons learned and share with all employees and post on the GVI Shared Drive.

All information shared is in the interest of mishap prevention. * Ensure all personnel wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to, hard hat, Safety glasses, face shields, steel or composite toed shoes, flashlights or adequate light source, hearing protection in spaces with elevated noise levels. * Ensure electrical Safety practices shall be followed.

In addition, more stringent local requirements for safer electrical practices shall be followed. * Ensure Lockout/Tagout and Work Authorization are accomplished for electrical tasks. * Be familiar with the local Fire Safety Plan.

The Plan shall be followed to minimize work site hazards and to respond to emergencies. * Ensure employees receive training from on hazards associated with the areas in which they will be working and know what to do to protect themselves. * Adhere to the requirements of 29 CFR 1910, 29 CFR 1926 and applicable state and local requirements while in Government spaces.

* Ensure that all on-site work at the Government facility is in accordance with any local Safety instructions as provided via the COR. Report all work-related injuries/illnesses that occurred while working at the Government site to the COR. * Conduct periodic site Safety assessments of GVI employees while performing work.

Safety assessments shall be documented and provided to the Government Representative/Supervisor upon request. * Ensure that Material Handling Equipment (MHE) is operated and maintained in accordance with OSHA standards and manufacturer's specifications. Operators of MHE have met training and licensing requirements.

Operators conduct and document a daily operational check prior to operation of MHE. Documentation is maintained for the duration of the period of performance of the ETSS contract and copies shall be provided to the Supervisor upon request. * Ensure good housekeeping is accomplished.

Ensure GVI maintains good housekeeping in all work areas and will accomplish a cleanliness inspection daily whenever work is in progress. Required Qualifications: * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision * Demonstrated discipline and reliability Preferred Qualifications: * Prior experience supporting DoD or Navy contracts * Active security clearance or ability to obtain one Position is located in White Sands Missile Range, NM.
