The Opportunity:

The Gummy R&D Technician is responsible for supporting the R&D Gummy product and process development following cGMP and/or SOPs. The Gummy R&D Technician will work closely with the Gummy Formulation Scientist or Gummy Formulator to conduct R&D daily activities to meet customer and company requirements.


What Youโ€™ll Do:

  • Operate in a team and sometimes independently in every aspect; this includes picking and transporting raw materials from the warehouse to make pilots, returning them to their appropriate locations and completing raw materials transactions in ERP system.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitation of machinery and equipment used in the department to have them ready for subsequent use.
  • Conduct the weighing, blending, heating, and other processing of raw materials for new and existing formulas following cGMP and/or SOPs to comply with customer and company requirements.
  • Manage the receiving and evaluation of new raw materials, maintaining a good record keeping for future references.
  • Conduct the raw materials evaluations with the direction of R&D Gummy Formulation Scientist or Gummy Formulator and evaluate the physical and organoleptic discrepancies/differences in raw materials and finished product results.
  • Maintain the lab space as clean, organized, and in good standing at all times.
  • Prepare prototypes on benchtop independently as well as in process measurements for new/existing formulars and finished prototypes physical tests with laboratory test instrumentation, maintain a good record for future references.
  • Support new product launch through monitoring scale up and commercialization runs and communicate teams with feedback and suggestions timely.
  • Adhere to company guidelines, including cGMP, SOPs, and safety procedures.
  • Interface with internal departments, including maintenance, purchasing, manufacturing, inventory control, quality assurance/quality control, sales, and customer service as required.

What You'll Bring:

  • High School Diploma and 2 years of lab and/or manufacturing experience, or Bachelor's degree within science field.
  • Excellent attention to detail, demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality; applies feedback to improve performance; monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Well-versed in the metric system.
  • Ability to calculate and mix buggers and other solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently. (Bilingual Spanish a plus),.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Accurate typing ability.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and rapidly changing and conflicting priorities to meet deadlines.

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00. The compensation offered may vary depending on the candidateโ€™s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and/or education.
