JOB SUMMARY
The mission of the Analysis Technology Unit (ATU) is to integrate analysis technology into FBI daily operations. ATU focuses on developing analysis technology expertise across the FBI through training and providing assistance to FBI field offices and headquarters divisions. ATU manages the Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Program, including enterprise Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

MAJOR DUTIES
• Serve as a senior specialist and/or project manager (i.e., for projects of fixed duration or requiring a very limited number of team members), as required. In this capacity, act as a technical consultant addressing the most complex advanced systems projects as well as critical problems which confront the FBI in the realm of information technology (IT).
• Identify, define, forecast, analyze, conceptualize, articulate, research, maintain, and/or implement the information systems and architecture to suit various needs throughout the FBI in administrative, technical, scientific, investigative, and other widely diversified subject-matter activities.
• Conduct research to obtain knowledge regarding state-of-the-art IT equipment and operating procedures; initiate and coordinate testing of IT technologies which are often state-of-the-art; assess hardware and software capabilities associated with the applicability of such systems.
• Analyze and determine the impact of automation efforts on current policies and operational practices to determine applicability and sufficiency under existing and evolving long-range automation strategy of the FBI
• Execute, coordinate, and monitor testing and implementation plans; conduct post implementation evaluations of IT systems to determine performance
• Develop close contact and working relationships with personnel in various functional activities throughout the FBI to effectively carry out and coordinate necessary activities
• Participate in contractor design of systems; and, set criteria and lead evaluations of systems and products.
