Job description

Who we are:
Founded in 2010, Semios Group is a leading agricultural technology company helping growers, agronomists, and ag retailers manage over 200 million acres across five countries. Semios pioneered variable-rate pheromone-based mating disruption in orchards and has since expanded into a comprehensive portfolio covering crop protection, water management, frost control, automation, and a leading farm management information system. The Semios Group includes trusted brands such as Semios, Agworld, Altrac, and Greenbook. We continue to drive the next generation of digital agriculture, supporting growers, agronomists and ag retailers in improving sustainability and profitability.
Our innovative work has been recognized with several industry awards, including:
  • AgTech Breakthrough - Smart Irrigation Company & Pest Management Solution of the Year
  • Thrive Top 50
  • Google for Startups Accelerator Cohort
  • Global Cleantech Top 100

We know our journey is only achievable by having a great team who shares ideas, tries new things, and learns as we go.
Who you are:
Semios is seeking a highly knowledgeable and motivated agronomy professional, as a Grower Relations Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role by educating and sharing insights on agronomic solutions with customers and prospects. This position requires significant community engagement and travel throughout the state to provide expert knowledge and support. This role supports the Sales team by providing technical agronomy knowledge, customer education, and in-season support to drive adoption and success of Semios solutions.
You're driven by purpose and motivated by work that matters. You're looking for more than a role, you want to be part of a growing, forward-thinking company solving real-world challenges to improve how farming works, today and for the future.
What you will do:
Community Engagement
  • Actively participate in local community events and agricultural gatherings.
  • Serve as a resource and collaborative partner for growers, advisors, and retailers.

Pre-Sales Function
  • Educate potential clients on agronomy practices and Semios + Agworld products.
  • Share industry insights and trends related to agronomy.
  • Conduct consultations and field visits to assess and address customer needs.

Customer and Prospect Interaction
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts.
  • Provide tailored solutions and recommendations based on customer-specific challenges.
  • Serve as an in-season resource and consultant supporting customers with subject area & product related questions.
  • Act as a technical advisor during pre-sales meetings and product demonstrations.
  • Product demonstrations will include data collection and trial management with a full customer review at the end of the season.

Field & Technical Support
  • Support installation verification and field validation of Semios solutions (traps, MD, irrigation, etc.)
  • Assist with troubleshooting basic field issues and escalate when needed
  • Support data interpretation from Semios Hub (weather, traps, soil moisture)

Product Expertise
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of Semios + Agworld's agronomy products.
  • Train internal sales teams on product features, benefits, and applications.
  • Stay updated on new product developments and industry advancements.

Strategic Planning
  • Contribute to the development of after-action reports and strategic plans.
  • Participate in regular meetings with sales teams and other specialists to review performance and strategize for upcoming seasons.
  • Help develop and refine products and services based on market feedback.

Content Creation and Delivery
  • Lead webinars, workshops, and training sessions related to best management practices in crop production.
  • Support development of educational materials, including whitepapers, case studies, and technical guides.
  • Provide monthly regional updates and end-of-season reports to customers.

Requirements
We want you to succeed, so you will need:
Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in agronomy, horticulture, viticulture, environmental science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical agronomic support or a related field within the agriculture industry.
  • A valid driver's license with the ability to travel up to 60% of the time.

Skills
  • Strong understanding of crop production cycles and best management practices.
  • Experience with irrigation systems, scheduling, and monitoring.
  • Experience with both on-farm sensors and remote sensing data applications.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to interpret agronomic and sensor data to support recommendations.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Experience with product training and educational content development.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally (Sales, FS, Product, CSS)

Nice to have:
  • Preferable CCA certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hiring
  • Other relevant certifications such as CAIS and/or CID are encouraged but not required.

Salary range: $75,000 to $90,000 USD per year
We publish a salary range to provide transparency and represent the full growth potential of the role; as a result, offers are made based on demonstrated mastery and experience and generally fall near the midpoint.
Work Environment:
The position will require frequent travel to customer sites, company locations, or industry events. While performing remote work, employees are expected to maintain a home workspace that is free from distractions and conducive to productive work. The noise level in both the office and remote settings is generally moderate.
Benefits
Why this is the opportunity for you:
  • Purposeful Work: Make a global impact by advancing sustainable food production.
  • Our People: Work with a fun, collaborative, and supportive team.
  • Recharge: Generous vacation policy and year-end winter break.
  • Work Flexibility: Enjoy a hybrid office setting (if you're near Fresno) or fully remote.
  • Wellbeing: Comprehensive health plans and enroll in our 401(K) plan.
