Group Benefits ManagerAbout the Opportunity

A well-established regional insurance brokerage is seeking an experienced Group Benefits Manager to join its growing Employee Benefits team. This position is ideal for an experienced benefits professional who enjoys managing client relationships, delivering exceptional service, and supporting the administration of employer-sponsored benefit programs.

The successful candidate will manage an existing portfolio of clients while collaborating with internal teams and insurance carriers to deliver comprehensive employee benefits solutions. This role also offers opportunities for professional growth into a leadership position.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain a portfolio of employee benefits clients, providing exceptional service and ongoing account support.

  • Build strong relationships with employers, HR professionals, and business owners to understand their benefits needs.

  • Coordinate annual renewals, gather carrier quotes, and evaluate plan options.

  • Prepare benefit proposals, plan comparisons, and renewal presentations for clients.

  • Market employee benefit plans with insurance carriers to secure competitive pricing and coverage.

  • Coordinate employee benefit enrollments, including new hires, open enrollment, and qualifying life event changes.

  • Resolve eligibility, billing, claims, and service-related issues by working closely with insurance carriers and internal teams.

  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and carrier requirements.

  • Support implementation of new benefit plans and assist with ongoing account management activities.

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and support business growth.


Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in Employee Benefits Account Management, Benefits Administration, or Employee Benefits Brokerage.

  • Experience managing employer-sponsored group health and welfare benefit plans.

  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits.

  • Experience coordinating benefit renewals and working directly with insurance carriers.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client relationship management skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an insurance brokerage environment.

  • Experience managing small-group and/or mid-market employee benefit accounts.

  • Knowledge of self-funded employee benefit plans.

  • Experience using Employee Navigator or similar benefits administration platforms.

  • Familiarity with carrier marketing, underwriting, and benefit proposal preparation.
