Job description

Job Summary
The Quality Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining and updating the IATF16949 documentation to ensure a world class quality product is being installed on our customer's vehicles. Documentation development and input includes work instructions, process flow/PFMEA, control plans, audit plans, etc. This position will ensure on time launch support, as well as address and review plant and supplier concerns.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of IATF16949 facility process documentation, work instructions, process flow/PFMEA, control plans, all PPAP documentation and audit plans.
    • Develop and maintenance of vehicle travellers and QA check-sheets for new and current programs.
    • Assist with training and coaching of production quality team. Provide advice and guidance to ensure adherence to work instructions.
  • Manage supplier concerns with QAS
    • Develop detailed responses to customer concerns / corrective actions and warranty claims in a timely manner using customer portals.
    • Issue GIMS and SCARs through customer sites when directed by customer, otherwise through the Ground Effects LTD/LLC Quality Management System.
    • Navigate and assist with regular customer website maintenance.
  • Support key dates and launch requirements at build plant as required.
    • Manage required OEM alerts and Forever requirements as needed.
  • Assist with cost tracking for internal, external and supplier issues and reported out monthly.
    • Conduct internal audits for LPA's, IATF, etc.

Qualifications
  • Education
    • Minimum Required: Grade 12 education or equivalent
    • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Quality Engineering or related field. Experience will be considered in lieu of education.
  • Experience
    • Minimum Required: 1 to 3 years of experience as a quality lead or specialist in a manufacturing/production environment.
    • Preferred: 3+ Years' experience with Tier 1 level submission for PPAP for all quality documents
    • 2+ Years' experience with TS16949 or IATF 16949 standards, Quality Audits, Environmental Management System and OSHA Requirements
    • Automotive manufacturing or military background
  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License
  • Must be willing to travel as required
  • Must have knowledge of TS16949 or IATF 16949
  • Must be familiar with MS Office
  • Preferred:
    • Familiar with Environmental Management System and OSHA Requirements
    • Able to identify quality issues relating to work instructions and quality processes.
    • Advanced computer, communication and time management skills
    • Must be team oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
    • Must have demonstrated organizational and communication skills.
    • Knowledge of and experience with the APQP process including FMEA and Control Plan development.
    • Must have knowledge of and experience with PPAP submissions.

Working Conditions
The following working conditions are present or expected on a daily basis:
  • Manufacturing environment with minimal leadership assignments.
  • Frequent exposure to weather elements, chemical, robotics, industrial manufacturing and automotive vehicles.
  • Must comply with all Company policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at all times while on the production floor.
