Job description

Join our dynamic team as a 2nd Shift Gun Barrel Plater! We are a leading company in the firearms manufacturing industry, dedicated to producing high-quality products. We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to apply various coatings and finishes to gun barrels, ensuring they meet the highest quality standards. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for firearms and a strong background in plating and surface finishing processes. Hours - 3PM-12AM 

Responsibilities
  • Prepare gun barrels for plating by cleaning, degreasing, and removing any existing coatings or impurities using abrasive materials, solvents, and cleaning agents.
  • Apply specialized coatings and finishes to gun barrels using electroplating or other plating methods, ensuring the correct plating solution and process parameters are used.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of plated gun barrels to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications, including tests for adhesion, corrosion resistance, and hardness.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot plating equipment and tools, performing regular calibrations and coordinating with maintenance personnel for repairs when necessary.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and guidelines while working with hazardous chemicals, plating equipment, and firearms, following all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of plating processes, including process parameters, inspection results, and any deviations from specifications, and generate reports for process improvement.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certifications in plating, surface finishing, or a related field are preferred.
  • Proven experience in electroplating or other plating techniques, preferably in a firearms manufacturing or related industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of plating materials, chemicals, and processes, including surface preparation, coating selection, and quality control.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for handling delicate gun barrels and applying coatings precisely.
  • Familiarity with operating and maintaining plating equipment, such as rectifiers, tanks, filters, and chemical pumps.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and the ability to work in a controlled and regulated environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and report any issues or findings.
