Job description

Objective:ย To facilitate daily program activities at Diablo Valley Ranch (DVR) and provide Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Counseling services.

Reports to:ย Program Coordinator

Current Open Shifts:

  • Friday - Sundayย โ€“ graveyard (10pm-6am)

Duties:

  • To facilitate and maintain an alcohol and drug-free environment that is non-judgmental, safe and supportive
  • To perform intakes, ASAM Placement Criteria, Assessments, treatment and discharge planning: to facilitate individual counseling, group process sessions, educational sessions: to perform drug tests as needed. To make available and document client medications as required
  • To maintain client charts, participate in chart case review, and case collaborations.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings
  • To provide case management assisting individuals with needed resources (housing, medical and mental health services, transportation, vocational and employment development, legal services, sobriety support networks,)
  • Work in collaboration with Coordinator, Therapists, Co-Workers, County Referral Unit and community resources.

Qualifications:

  • Experienced working with men in an AOD treatment setting.
  • Thorough knowledge of ASAM preferred.
  • Must be Certified or Registered AOD counselor.
  • Must have effective intervention, motivational, and facilitation skills.
  • Must attain CPR and first-aid certification.
  • Must be sensitive to and knowledgeable to the needs of population served, and persons with co-occurring disorders, clients in the CPS and/or criminal justice system, culturally diverse populations, gay/bisexual/lesbian populations and the disabled.
  • Must have valid insurable California Driver's License
