Position Summary

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment within assigned facilities. This position performs routine and detailed cleaning tasks to ensure safe, welcoming spaces for occupants, visitors, and staff. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while contributing to a team-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitation tasks in assigned areas, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and floor care

  • Conduct high dusting and detailed cleaning of surfaces, fixtures, and common areas

  • Empty trash receptacles and properly dispose of waste materials

  • Follow established cleaning schedules, procedures, and safety protocols

  • Safely use cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment according to training and guidelines

  • Maintain organized and properly stocked cleaning supply and equipment storage areas

  • Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding cleaning needs or concerns

  • Support a safe and professional work environment at all times

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods

  • Ability to operate standard custodial cleaning equipment

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards

  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and strong work ethic

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred:

  • Previous custodial or janitorial experience, preferably in a medical or professional setting

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods

  • Regular exposure to cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment

  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat and cold

  • Physical stamina to perform routine and strenuous cleaning tasks
