Job description

What You'll Do

As a caregiver with Senior Helpers of Grass Valley, you’ll provide personalized care and support tailored to each client’s unique needs, preferences, and goals. Every visit is an opportunity to bring comfort, confidence, and a reassuring presence to someone who depends on your care.

NOTE: Our main office is located in Grass Valley, CA. In-person interviews, orientation, and some on-going training may take place at our physical office location but as this is an in-home caregiver position, we are looking for individuals who will primarily be working in the Grass Valley and greater Grass Valley locations.


We have both full-time and part-time positions available at this time.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing companionship through conversation, meaningful engagement, hobbies, games, and other activities that promote emotional well-being.
  • Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene.
  • Assisting clients with mobility, transfers, ambulation, and positioning using safe techniques and appropriate equipment.
  • Preparing nutritious meals and assisting with feeding as needed.
  • Performing light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a safe home environment.
  • Providing medication reminders in accordance with each client’s care plan.
  • Transporting clients to appointments, errands, and community activities.
  • Supporting clients living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia.
  • Observing and reporting changes in a client’s physical, emotional, or cognitive condition.
  • Maintaining clear, accurate, and timely documentation while communicating professionally with clients, families, and the Senior Helpers team.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of one year of professional hands-on caregiving experience required.
  • Experience assisting clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, transfers, and personal care.
  • Experience caring for clients living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia preferred.
  • Current Home Care Aide (HCA) registration or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.
  • Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and meet all California Home Care Organization employment requirements.
  • Current TB clearance or willingness to obtain prior to employment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including clear, accurate, and timely documentation.
