About the Family

A warm, active family in McLean, Virginia is seeking an experienced, career-dedicated Nanny and House Manager to join their household on a full-time basis. This is a long-term position with a family that values consistency, genuine connection, and a professional approach to household management. The children range in age from 3.5 to 9 years old and are in school through the afternoon, creating a natural rhythm of household management during the first portion of the shift before transitioning to active, hands-on childcare through the evening routine.

The ideal candidate is someone who views being a nanny not as a stepping stone but as a vocation someone who takes pride in creating a nurturing, organized, and joyful environment for children and family life alike.


Schedule

Monday-Friday, 12:00 PM-8:00 PM (40 hours/week). Children are in school until approximately 3:30 PM, allowing for household-focused work before transitioning to active childcare through the evening routine.


Childcare Responsibilities

  • School pickup and transportation to after-school activities
  • Homework help and support with reading, spelling, and school assignments
  • Kid-focused meal preparation and dinner
  • Bath time, bedtime routine, and getting children settled for the night
  • Park outings, playdates, and enrichment activities
  • Reading together and engaging in age-appropriate play and learning

Household Responsibilities

The family has a professional housecleaner who services the home four times per month. The family has a housecleaner 4x per month. Deep cleaning of the home is not part of this role. Day-to-day household responsibilities are focused on maintaining the flow and organization of family life:

  • Children's laundry
  • Tidying and maintaining children's spaces between housecleaner visits
  • Running errands related to children and household essentials (groceries, school supplies, etc.)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of recent, professional nanny/childcare experience
  • Verifiable long-term references from previous employers
  • CPR & First Aid Certified (current or willing to renew prior to start date)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Fully vaccinated
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Valid government-issued identification
  • Willing to complete comprehensive background check, reference checks, and payroll onboarding
  • Non-smoker
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
