Position Summary
The Graphic Designer works closely with the marketing team to develop visually compelling content that drives ticket sales, strengthens brand awareness, promotes events, and engages diverse audiences across digital and traditional channels. This role requires a strong combination of design expertise and marketing awareness. The ideal candidate is passionate about visual storytelling and can translate marketing objectives into impactful creative assets that capture attention and inspire action. Projects may include event branding, concert and convention graphics, social media content, print collateral, signage, email marketing graphics, and website assets. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of marketing and event promotion projects in a fast-paced entertainment and convention center environment. The Graphic Designer is encouraged to bring fresh perspectives, explore innovative design approaches, and help define creative campaigns that connect with audiences across the region. This is an ideal opportunity for a designer seeking a collaborative environment where creativity, experimentation, and strategic thinking are valued. The Graphic Designer will contribute to creative campaign development while ensuring all visual communications maintain the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center brand identity and support organizational goals. This role requires the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality creative solutions for a diverse portfolio of entertainment, convention, sporting, and community events.
This role pays an hourly rate of $25.00

Responsibilities
  • Design and produce marketing materials for concerts, conventions, sporting events, community programs, and venue initiatives.
  • Create digital advertisements, social media graphics, email marketing assets, website graphics, posters, flyers, signage, and other branded materials.
  • Work with marketing staff to design materials that support event promotions and audience engagement that support event awareness.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all marketing channels, campaigns, and promotional materials.
  • Assist with photo editing, layout design, visual content organization, and campaign asset management.
  • Support rapid-turnaround creative requests for concerts, sporting events, conventions, meetings, and community events.
  • Manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of professional graphic design experience preferred.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creative excellence across digital, print, and marketing-focused design projects.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, and familiarity with After Effects or other motion graphics software.
  • Experience designing for social media, digital advertising, email marketing, and print production.
  • Strong understanding of marketing and branding principles preferred.
  • Strong typography, layout, and graphic design skills. Visual storytelling and creative concept development interests are desired.
  • Ability to develop original creative concepts and translate marketing objectives into compelling visual campaigns as desired.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with website graphics and digital content best practices preferred.
  • Experience in entertainment, performing arts, live events, sports, conventions, hospitality, tourism, or destination marketing is a plus.
