Job description

DIRECTOR - GRANT FUNDED PROGRAMS (GRANT FUNDED)
KENNEDY-KING COLLEGE
Reporting to an assigned college administrator, the Director - Grant Funded Programs (GF) leads the successful development, implementation and operation of a specific grant at City Colleges of Chicago. The Director - Grant Funded Programs (GF) is responsible for overseeing all components of this grant, including but not limited to the case management, procurement, outcome reporting, contract management and day-to-day management of the program. Performs related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Directs the planning, execution, and continuous management of grant-funded initiatives to ensure achievement of performance goals and compliance with funding requirements. Develops and monitors program work plans, timelines, and deliverables. Leads the development of renewal applications as needed.
  • Works in partnership with the District Office grants team to ensure alignment with district-wide goals, strategies, and compliance standards. Leverages district-level expertise and resources to strengthen program implementation, reporting, and sustainability efforts.
  • Establishes and oversees the collection and analysis of program data to assess progress, ensure accountability, and inform continuous improvement. Prepares timely and accurate reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Designs and implements targeted outreach and recruitment strategies to engage participants from diverse backgrounds, with particular attention to underrepresented and historically marginalized populations.
  • Collaborates with college staff to deliver on the program's vision. Coordinates across teams to ensure program coherence and participant success.
  • Oversees program operations including participant recruitment, budgeting, service delivery and curriculum delivery. Ensures high-quality service delivery and tight integration of the academic, wrap around services and mentoring components.
  • Manages grant budgets in accordance with institutional and grantor policies. Ensures proper procurement, expenditure tracking, and financial reporting. Maintains full compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines.
  • Cultivates and maintains effective partnerships with external organizations, employers, and community agencies to support program goals and enhance service delivery.
  • Leads the design and implementation of equity-driven strategies and solutions that address barriers to access, retention, and completion for marginalized populations.
  • Oversees and supports staff assigned to the grant initiative, providing leadership, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
  • Adheres to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in education, public administration, social sciences, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in program or project administration, preferably in an educational or non-profit setting.
  • Experience in project management, including implementation, operations, and performance measurement.
  • Familiarity with the administration of federal and/or state grants, preferably within a non-profit or educational environment, especially with the Department of Labor
  • Experience working with underrepresented or marginalized populations preferred
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Prior experience in workforce development preferred
  • Prior experience in student recruitment preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work within a culturally diverse environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead effective teams, and to collaborate across departments to achieve program goals.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships and strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and a wide range of business, industry, and community partners.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

The salary range for this position is $92,866 - $95,000.
Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as other factors such as internal equity.
