Jobs working with granite countertops involve the installation and construction of countertops. As a countertop fabricator, you inspect the granite for flaws and cut the granite into the size of the countertop. Your duties include edging to help shape the granite, installing support rods or drainboards, and polishing the granite before you wash, dry, and seal the final product. As a countertop installer, your responsibilities include installing granite countertops with a small team of installers, repairing cracks, polishing the countertop, and making other repairs. When not installing countertops, you may help out with other tasks and receive training for fabrication and other roles.
