About Our Family

We are a warm, busy household in Farmers Branch, TX. Our home is shared by two professionals who manage their work lives with a blend of work-from-home, in-office, and extended-travel schedules. We live with an independent and spirited grandmother and have six friendly cats who are part of our family, each with their own personality and quirks.

While our days are often filled with work, travel, and various commitments, we cherish time spent together and aim to keep our home a peaceful retreat. We believe in creating systems that keep everything running smoothly and appreciate the structure that these routines bring to our lives. If everything has a place, nothing gets lost.

We're currently finalizing our rental property and are looking for someone to help us manage both our new home and this ongoing project. As we travel frequently and are away from home, we need someone who is proactive, self-sufficient, and able to handle a variety of tasks. You'll help with everything from coordinating contractors for home repairs to ensuring Grandmother's needs are met, all while keeping the home organized and maintaining systems you've built.

We place a strong emphasis on kindness and approachability, especially when interacting with Grandma. She enjoys connecting with warm, considerate people who are willing to lend a hand when needed (think reconnecting the wifi to the television). The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking initiative and working independently, but will also have a natural ability to connect with our family.

If you're someone who thrives in an environment where structure and flexibility go hand in hand and who enjoys supporting a household by building and maintaining organizational systems and managing complex, multi-step projects, we'd love to meet you.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

  • Proactive and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects independently
  • Warm, kind, and approachable, with a strong ability to connect with different types of people
  • Comfortable in a household with pets, especially cats, and aware of pet safety (plastic bags, cat-safe plants, keeping the doors closed)
  • Self-sufficient and able to create and maintain household organization systems without constant direction
  • Comfortable managing contractors, coordinating repairs, and handling home projects
  • Technologically savvy, with the ability to leverage tools like AI to improve efficiency and research
  • Health-conscious and aligned with our values
  • Discreet and professional, with the ability to maintain confidentiality (NDA required due to our jobs)
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a strong attention to detail
  • Reliable, with dependable transportation and a strong commitment to meeting the needs of the family

Key Responsibilities

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Create and maintain household organization systems.
  • Daily/weekly resets, including tidying up the home for cleaners, fridge, and trash
  • Organize seasonal swaps (clothing, dcor, bedding).
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs and Facebook Marketplace listings.
  • Event and holiday preparation.
  • Organizational projects, including three closets, two garages, a pantry, and kitchen.

Inventory & Errands

  • Manage orders, returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping.
  • Handle mail and package deliveries.
  • Unbox subscriptions and organize items.
  • Restock the pantry and fridge to ensure food is easily accessible for Grandma.

Meal Support

  • Stock the fridge with accessible snacks, such as fruits, vegetables, cheese sticks, drinks, and easy-to-grab items.
  • Help with meal planning and ordering lunch when we are home.

Laundry & Linens

  • Organize and put away laundry to ensure the family's clothing is taken care of.
  • Set laundry items aside for pickup and coordinate with the laundry service.
  • Keep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked.

Pet Care

  • Feed the cats, ensure water bowls are full, and administer flea/tick treatments as needed.
  • Schedule and take cats to the vet (when needed).
  • Maintain pet supplies and ensure their safety in the home.

Vehicle Upkeep

  • Manage the family vehicle: fueling, scheduling state inspections and oil checks, and handling registration/insurance.
  • Clean and wash the family vehicle by hand or at a car wash facility.

Vendor & Property Oversight

  • Assist with vendor/contractor coordination for maintenance projects at both homes.
  • Handle light maintenance tasks such as spraying wasp repellent, setting ant traps, and watering plants.
  • Help plan and oversee future projects, including water fountain installation, property management for rental properties, and building a network of reliable contractors.
