What is a Duro Last?

A Duro-Last job typically refers to the installation or repair of a Duro-Last roofing system, a high-performance, prefabricated PVC roofing membrane. These jobs are commonly performed on commercial and industrial buildings due to the material's durability, energy efficiency, and ease of installation. Roofing contractors install custom-fabricated Duro-Last membranes to minimize seams and reduce the risk of leaks. The process includes surface preparation, membrane placement, heat welding, and flashing installation. Duro-Last jobs require trained professionals to ensure proper installation and long-lasting performance.

What does a Duro Last do?

A typical day for a Duro-Last Roofing Installer involves preparing the jobsite, reviewing blueprints or project plans, and working with roofing materials to install or repair Duro-Last single-ply roofing systems. Installers measure and cut membrane, weld seams with specialized tools, inspect their work for quality, and ensure adherence to safety protocols. Teamwork is essential, as installers often collaborate closely with other crew members and site supervisors to complete tasks efficiently. The work is largely outdoors and can require adapting to varying weather conditions and project timelines. This hands-on role is well-suited for individuals who enjoy physically active, detail-oriented work in a team environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Duro Last position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Duro-Last Roofing Installer, you need hands-on skills in commercial roofing, particularly with thermoplastic single-ply roofing systems, along with a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with tools such as hot-air welders, seamers, and safety harness systems, as well as completion of Duro-Last installation certification courses, is highly beneficial. Attention to detail, teamwork, and good problem-solving abilities help installers effectively adapt to jobsite conditions and collaborate with crew members. These competencies are crucial for ensuring quality installations, maintaining safety standards, and achieving project goals in the roofing industry.

Job description

Territory Sales Representative

– Central Pennsylvania

About Green Mountain

Sales Green Mountain Sales is an independently owned manufacturer’s representative agency led by owner Jay Monteverde. The company represents and promotes commercial building products by developing strong relationships with contractors, architects, consultants, building owners, and other construction-industry professionals.

Green Mountain Sales is seeking an experienced territory sales professional to develop and grow sales of Duro-Last® commercial roofing systems within an assigned Pennsylvania market.

Duro-Last is a leading manufacturer of custom-fabricated PVC roofing systems for commercial and industrial buildings. Known as the “World’s Best Roof®,” Duro-Last roofing systems provide exceptional durability, installation efficiency, and long-term performance.

This position is offered by Green Mountain Sales. The successful candidate will work for and receive compensation from Green Mountain Sales—not Duro-Last, Inc. Although the representative will promote Duro-Last products and work closely with Duro-Last personnel, the representative will not be an employee of Duro-Last

Position Overview

The Territory Sales Representative will be responsible for developing new business, supporting existing contractor relationships, and expanding sales of Duro-Last roofing systems throughout the assigned territory.

This role requires a motivated, relationship-driven sales professional who understands commercial roofing or construction-material sales and can identify opportunities, build partnerships, and assist with projects from the initial lead and specification stages through bidding, ordering, and installation.

The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial roofing, architectural products, construction materials, specifications, or building-envelope sales. Existing relationships with roofing contractors, architects, consultants, engineers, building owners, or facility managers are highly desirable.

The representative will report directly to Green Mountain Sales owner Jay Monteverde and will coordinate regularly with Duro-Last’s regional sales and support teams.

Assigned Territory

The assigned territory will cover a defined portion of central and south-central Pennsylvania, including:

• Harrisburg

• Altoona

• York

• State College

• Wellsboro • Montoursville

• Surrounding markets extending north to the New York state line

The State College-to-Lancaster corridor will serve as an approximate territorial boundary. The representative may develop business throughout the assigned markets up to that boundary. Lancaster and the Lancaster market are specifically excluded and will not be called upon or serviced by this representative.

The representative will be expected to travel regularly throughout the territory, establish consistent market coverage, develop relationships in underserved areas, and maintain a regular schedule of contractor visits, project-development activities, and specification-related meetings.

Final territory boundaries, account assignments, and exceptions will be determined by Green Mountain Sales in coordination with Duro-Last regional sales leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial roofing contractors.

• Identify, recruit, develop, and support prospective authorized Duro-Last contractors.

• Promote Duro-Last roofing systems to contractors, architects, consultants, engineers, building owners, and facility managers.

• Identify, develop, and track commercial roofing projects and sales opportunities throughout the assigned territory.

• Assist contractors with project identification, system selection, estimating coordination, specifications, and bid support.

• Conduct product presentations, contractor training, educational seminars, and sales meetings.

• Support contractor customers throughout the specification, bidding, ordering, and project completion process.

• Coordinate with Green Mountain Sales and the appropriate Duro-Last sales, technical, engineering, quality-assurance, marketing, and customer-service personnel.

• Develop territory-growth strategies and maintain an accurate, organized sales pipeline.

• Increase specification activity, strengthen contractor loyalty, and help convert sales opportunities into installed Duro-Last roofing systems.

• Represent Green Mountain Sales and the Duro-Last product line professionally at customer meetings, industry events, trade-association meetings, and contractor functions.

• Maintain established territory boundaries and coordinate opportunities outside the assigned market with Green Mountain Sales and the appropriate Duro-Last regional sales representative.

• Submit required sales reports, project updates, forecasts, and other territory information to Green Mountain Sales.

• Follow applicable Green Mountain Sales policies and Duro-Last product, branding, technical, and authorized-contractor requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in commercial roofing, construction materials, architecture, specifications, or building envelope sales.

• Existing relationships with commercial roofing contractors, architects, consultants, engineers, building owners, or facility managers.

• Architectural, design, or specification-development experience is preferred but not required.

• Working knowledge of low-slope commercial roofing systems and the construction-sales process.

• Demonstrated ability to develop new business and grow an assigned sales territory.

• Strong relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

• Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and sales opportunities.

• Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable managing daily territory activities independently.

• Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.

• Previous experience working for a manufacturer’s representative agency is preferred but not required.

• A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

Compensation and Support

Green Mountain Sales offers:

• Base salary plus commission.

• Competitive earning potential based on individual and territory performance.

• Vehicle allowance and company gas card.

• Opportunity to build long-term income through territory growth and contractor development.

• Access to factory sales, technical, engineering, training, and marketing support from Duro-Last.

• Access to an established contractor network and a nationally recognized commercial roofing brand.

• Industry-leading roofing products, warranties, and technical resources.

• Significant opportunity to grow market share within the assigned territory.

All compensation, commissions, allowances, reimbursements, employment terms, and any available benefits will be established and administered solely by Green Mountain Sales. Nothing in this posting creates an employment relationship between the successful candidate and Duro-Last, Inc., or any of its parent companies, affiliates, or related entities.

Why Join Green Mountain Sales?

• Join an independently owned manufacturer’s representative agency with an opportunity to make a measurable impact.

• Represent one of the commercial roofing industry’s most recognized PVC roofing brands.

• Offer proven roofing systems supported by decades of manufacturing and field experience.

• Build lasting relationships with contractors, architects, specifiers, consultants, and building owners.

• Receive support from experienced Green Mountain Sales leadership and Duro-Last’s factory, technical, engineering, quality-assurance, marketing, and customer-service teams.

• Develop an established territory with significant growth and long-term earning potential.

• Expand contractor coverage and specification activity throughout central Pennsylvania.

If you are an experienced, relationship-driven sales professional ready to grow a commercial roofing territory, Green Mountain Sales encourages you to apply.

Green Mountain Sales is solely responsible for recruiting, selecting, hiring, supervising, compensating, and, when applicable, terminating the individual selected for this position. The selected representative will have no authority to enter into agreements, make warranties, or otherwise legally bind Duro-Last unless specifically authorized in writing.
