Civil Journeyman - Telecom Construction

Hourly Pay: $26-$32 per hour (DOE)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Foreman / Superintendent

The Role - Civil Journeyman

The Civil Journeyman is a hands-on, experienced field professional responsible for performing high-quality civil construction work on telecom sites. This role supports tower foundations, concrete work, trenching, grounding, and site preparation while working closely with the Foreman and crew to deliver projects safely and efficiently.

This is a working role for someone who knows the trade, respects the process, and takes pride in getting the job done right.

What You'll Do

Construction & Site Work

  • Install tower foundations,  concrete pads, rebar, anchor bolts, and shelter foundations
  • Perform trenching, conduit installation, backfill, compaction, grounding, and grading
  • Assist with site preparation, equipment staging, fencing, and platform construction
  • Operate construction equipment including skid steers, mini-excavators, plate compactors, concrete saws, and related tools

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all TCE, OSHA, and client  safety requirements and jobsite protocols-no shortcuts
  • Maintain clean, organized, hazard-free worksites
  • Participate in tailgate meetings,  Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and daily equipment safety checks

Technical Support

  • Read and follow construction drawings, redlines, and scopes of work
  • Assist with layout, measuring, material handling, and proper equipment operation
  • Identify and report issues with materials, equipment, or site conditions to the Foreman promptly

Teamwork & Communication

  • Work as part of a crew to meet productivity, quality, and schedule expectations
  • Communicate respectfully and professionally with crew members and supervisors

Requirements

What You Need to Be a Great Fit

  • 2-3+ years of civil construction experience (telecom experience strongly preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and basic construction equipment
  • Working knowledge of concrete forming, rebar installation, trenching, and grounding
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding work
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required
