Job Overview

We are seeking aย Senior IT Project Managerย to join our team. This role will involve overseeing large-scale, enterprise IT projects, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring successful delivery of project objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in IT project management, familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, and a passion for driving successful outcomes on complex government technology initiatives.


Job Description

In this role, you will collaborate closely with senior management, business stakeholders, and technical teams to meet organizational objectives while providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to project teams.

A Day in the Life โ€“ Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multiple IT projects to ensure proper management and successful completion.
  • Manage large enterprise-level software projects involving multiple internal stakeholders and contracted resources.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and risk registers.
  • Define project scope, user requirements, deliverables, roles, responsibilities, and approval processes.
  • Coordinate and monitor activities of all stakeholders to ensure timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to management and project stakeholders.
  • Translate technical concepts and SDLC processes into clear, understandable language for non-technical business users.
  • Work closely with technical teams and IT professionals to resolve issues and overcome project obstacles.
  • Provide professional leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior Project Managers, including training and development recommendations.
  • Foster a collaborative, respectful, and high-performing team environment.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in IT Project Management
  • Strong knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), IT tools, and implementation approaches
  • 5+ years of experience working with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong collaboration skills with technical teams and IT professionals
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills

Highly Desired:

  • Prior experience working on large State of Indiana software projects as a Senior IT Project Manager
  • PMP Certification (Certification must be uploaded at the time of submission)

Additional Requirements:

  • Only candidates currently located in Indiana will be considered
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
