Job description

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience designing mechanical components such as plastic or metal parts, mechanical assemblies, printed circuit boards, or flexes.
  • 5 years of experience using computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as 3D MCAD, NX, Creo, or Solidworks.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in consumer product design.
  • Experience shipping multiple consumer products in a lead or executive engineer role.
  • Experience collaborating with suppliers around the world on part manufacturing and final assembly, including onsite factory support.
  • Proficiency with Siemens NX/Teamcenter (advanced user).

As a member of a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team, you use your creativity and range of engineering experience to explore solutions to a variety of engineering problems. As a mechanical engineer, you participate in the design, analysis, and prototyping of new concepts. You work in a manufacturing and product oriented development environment and collaborate with vendors and outside sources in order to see parts through to manufacture.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
  • Drive designs from concept to mass production, focusing on balancing function, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and cosmetic requirements.
  • Create and publish detailed 3D CAD and 2D drawings for designs, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), materials selection, and manufacturing methods.
  • Work with global manufacturing suppliers to drive the design forward.
  • Travel to meet with suppliers and support manufacturing bring up during the different stages of product development.
  • Build and troubleshoot prototypes, analyze results of reliability testing, iteratively improve the design, and bring to mass production.
