This position works within guidelines to increase sales volume with assigned accounts, aggressively seeks new customers for both TV and digital business, executes plans and strategies set forth by sales management, maintains awareness of the competition, and maintains visibility in the community.The ideal candidate is a consultative seller who excels at identifying client needs, building strong relationships, and delivering measurable business results through customized advertising solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consistently achieve and exceed revenue goals through aggressive new business development and account growth

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships within the local business community

  • Prospect, qualify, and secure new advertising clients across television and digital platforms

  • Sell integrated marketing solutions including broadcast television, streaming/OTT, CTV, display advertising, social media, email marketing, programmatic advertising, branded content, sponsorships, and station integrations

  • Develop customized advertising strategies that help clients achieve their business and marketing objectives

  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals

  • Educate clients on how WROC-TV and RochesterFirst's multi-platform solutions can effectively promote their products and services

  • Collaborate with sales support, digital marketing specialists, creative services, and content teams to develop effective campaigns

  • Monitor campaign performance and provide clients with reporting, analytics, insights, and optimization recommendations

  • Maintain awareness of market conditions, industry trends, competitive activity, and emerging advertising opportunities

  • Utilize CRM, research, and sales tools to manage pipeline activity and client relationships

  • Represent WROC-TV and RochesterFirst.com at community events and business functions to enhance station visibility and generate new business opportunities

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered

  • Minimum one year of sales experience, preferably in media, advertising, digital marketing, or a related field

  • Experience selling or working with digital marketing solutions, including OTT/CTV, display advertising, social media, email marketing, streaming platforms, and programmatic advertising

  • Understanding of digital advertising metrics, audience targeting, campaign optimization, and marketing analytics

  • Experience with Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook Ads Manager, CRM platforms, or similar marketing and sales tools is a plus

  • Experience with FreeWheel, Google Ad Manager, Amazon DSP, or other advertising technology platforms is preferred

  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales goals and developing long-term client relationships

  • Solution-oriented mindset with a consultative approach to client business challenges

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with an acceptable driving record

  • Ability to work flexible hours as business needs require

Compensation: $40,000 annualized guaranteed compensation during the first 90 days of employment, plus commissions. After the onboarding period, compensation transitions to a 100% commission-based structure with uncapped earning potential and bonus opportunities. The guarantee period may be extended based on individual progress and business needs. Expected first-year earnings: $50,000-$80,000+, depending on performance. This position includes commission-based compensation.
