Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in employee relations/investigations, gained in either an HRBP role, Employee Relations Advisory role, or equivalent experience as an employment attorney practicing employment law.
  • Experience consulting directly with employees and management.
  • Experience in interpreting policies and applying legal advice.
  • Experience in applying investigative interview techniques.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience establishing best practices and knowledge management for investigation protocols and HR compliance issues.
  • Experience in employee relations, employment law or ethics and compliance.
  • Experience establishing domain expertise, exercising initiative and judgment across multiple workstreams and processes to influence organization to reach goals.
  • Project/program management and influencing leadership and stakeholder management experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, be diplomatic and influence stakeholders, third-party/suppliers and international teams.
  • Ability to persuasively convey opinions and recommendations both in speaking and writing.

We conduct thorough and timely investigations into allegations of violations of Google HR and Extended Workforce policies and review and advise on other workplace concerns to ensure fair treatment of everyone. We support the learning and development of each member of our team and provide both training and practical experience to support the cultivation of employee relations expertise.
In this role, you will strive to maintain a work environment that is fair and productive for Google's extended workforce as well as ensure compliance with policies guiding working this workforce. You will manage investigations and grievance resolution around violations of Google's extended workforce policies, Google's code of conduct and Google's Supplier Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough and timely investigations and grievance resolution for violations of Google's HR and extended workforce policies, Google's code of conduct and Google's Supplier Code of Conduct.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with our partners in Employment Legal, Employee Relations and Regulatory Affairs and Security Investigations and Assessments.
  • Provide risk insights/trends to Product Areas and Extended Workforce Solutions (xWS) to support their risk mitigation efforts.
  • Anticipate and escalate high-risk issues or supplier non-compliance to Product Areas and central functions like Procurement, Extended Workforce Solutions (xWS) and Employment Legal.
  • Prepare, track and maintain appropriate investigation data and documentation.
