Job description

Job Summary:
Google is a leading technology company that develops next-generation technologies impacting billions of users. They are seeking a Software Engineer III to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions critical to Google’s needs, while managing project priorities and collaborating with teams.
Responsibilities:
• Write product or system development code.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience programming in C++, Python or Java.
• 2 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure and distributed systems.
Preferred:
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience in developing cloud-based storage systems.
• Experience in caching technologies, data locality optimization in distributed environments.
• Experience with prompt engineering and the ability to effectively interact with AI assistants for tasks like code generation, explanation, and debugging.
