Description:

The A's are currently seeking a Director, Business Analytics who will serve as a key leader in building data models and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data across the organization. This individual will also be responsible for managing our growing team of analysts and engineers, overseeing survey and research efforts, and serving as a primary point of contact for key vendors and business partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain models to support lead scoring, revenue forecasting, and other initiatives.
  • Oversee, develop, and lead a team of analysts and engineers, including career development, mentorship and technical growth 
  • Maintain relationships with Major League Baseball and other Clubs to ensure best practices (pricing, vendors, etc.)
  • Lead fan, customer, partnership, and market research initiatives, including survey development, execution, analysis, and reporting to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
  • Support the successful execution of internal data requests and cross-departmental projects (e.g. commission reporting, postgame data requests, social/digital performance, attribution analysis)
  • Ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of league-wide reporting requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience in an analytics/strategy role with a live entertainment operator (sports, theater, concerts, etc.)
  • Proficiency in analytics and business intelligence tools (SQL, Python, R, Sigma, Tableau, etc.)
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and related modules (Salesforce, KORE, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. 
  • Advanced proficiency in written and visual communication, with the ability to clearly communicate and synthesize complex ideas and information to diverse audiences across the organization
  • Comfortable leveraging generative AI tools to improve productivity and streamline processes
  • Experience designing, implementing, and analyzing surveys, with the ability to translate insights into actionable improvements for  the business and fan experience
