Job description

Job Summary:

Assist Finance Director with basic bookkeeping and accounting tasks. Providing administrative support for the finance office processing business and daily accounts payable transactions following accounting best practice standards.

Pay Range: Min $21.16 Mid $23.60 Max $26.04

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Process daily accounts payable transactions and monitor compliance with purchasing policy and approvals
  • Monitor credit card use and verify receipts are in place and purchasing approval process was followed
  • Monthly Bank Statement reconciliations
  • Reconcile prior day receipts from multiple software programs and enter journal entries into QuickBooks Online
  • Clerical duties of scanning, copying, and filing.
  • Assist the Finance Director with audits, budgets, and other fiscal planning
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial data
  • Analyze financial information and statements in order to identify discrepancies

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient with QuickBooks Online
  • Ability to work independently with great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Solid proofreading and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting & properly identifying and coding to prepaid expense, deferred revenue, and liabilities
  • Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills

Education and Experience:

  • 2+ years accounting college coursework and 2 years of work experience or 4 years plus of applicable accounting work experience.

Physical and Schedule Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for several hours
  • 12-15 hours per week
