Tax Senior Associate-(Private Client Services)

The Senior Tax Associate will support the tax planning and compliance functions for high-net-worth individuals and their families, with a focus on financial services clients such as private equity fund managers and investment bankers.

The Senior Tax Associate will work closely with Managers and Partners to deliver high-quality client service in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment that emphasizes technical excellence and responsiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in providing tax planning and compliance services to high-net-worth clients.
  • Prepare complex tax returns, including individual (1040) and partnership filings.
  • Prepare small business returns (C Corps, S Corps and Partnerships).
  • Maintain regular communication with clients and internal teams to support ongoing engagements.
  • Prepare tax workpapers and conduct tax research related to high-net-worth individuals and related entities.
  • Develop an understanding of hedge fund K-1 reporting and its impact on individual taxation.
  • Review work prepared by junior staff for accuracy and completeness (as appropriate).
  • Mentor and support junior team members, providing guidance and feedback.
  • Stay current on federal and state tax law developments and apply changes to client work.
Qualifications
  • Must be able to work in the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university required.
  • Active CPA license or EA certification or in progress preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, with a focus on high-net-worth individuals, family offices, or private client services.
  • Knowledge of individual, trust, estate, and gift taxation is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of foreign reporting requirements, including forms such as 926, 8865, 8938, 5471, 8621, 8886, and FBAR.
  • General understanding of pass-through entity taxation at both the individual and entity level.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite and tax research platforms (e.g., CCH, BNA, RIA). Knowledge of ProSystems FX preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

The compensation for this position ranges from $80,000 - $90,000. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individualโ€™s qualifications, experience, skills, and certifications.
