What is golf operations?

Golf Operations refer to the management and coordination of all activities and services related to running a golf facility, such as a golf course or club. This includes overseeing tee times, tournaments, customer service, staff management, pro shop operations, and maintenance scheduling. Professionals in golf operations ensure that golfers have a smooth, enjoyable experience by handling logistics, enforcing course rules, and maintaining high standards of service. They may also be responsible for budgeting, marketing, and coordinating with groundskeeping staff to maintain course quality.

How to get into golf operations?

To get into golf operations, candidates typically need experience in customer service, hospitality, or sports management, along with knowledge of golf course maintenance and operations. Relevant certifications, such as CPR or golf course management courses, can enhance prospects. Entry-level roles often require a high school diploma or equivalent, with opportunities for advancement through experience and additional training.
