Location

Leading up to and during the golf season (April - November), you can expect to work on-site at Evergreen Golf Course. At 7,220 feet, Evergreen is Denver's mountain jewel golf course. This 18-hole course sits along Bear Creek. Rolling hills and fairways lined with pine trees make this mountain golf experience just a short drive from the city.

From December - March, you can expect to work on-site at Evergreen Golf Course and across Denver's eight golf facilities, based on needs, supporting year-round operations and programs.

With eight golf facilities, Denver Golf, part of the City and County of Denver's Department of Parks and Recreation, has something for everyone! Denver Golf's diverse portfolio includes one 27-hole regulation golf course, four 18-hole regulation golf courses, one 18-hole mountain golf course, two 9-hole par three golf courses, two Miniature Golf facilities, five driving ranges (including the signature Aqua Golf water range), six Restaurants, and Denver Junior Golf - The First Tee of Denver (one of the largest Junior Golf programs in the country). Denver Golf is looking to hire an Assistant Golf Course Operator to join their team at Evergreen Golf Course. Just a short drive from downtown, Evergreen Golf Course, a part of Denver's Mountain Park system, was completed in 1926 and provides an exceptional 18-hole golf course experience to visitors. As an Assistant Golf Course Operator, you will play a key role in Denver Golf's mission to be a national leader in the golf industry regarding accessibility, diversity, environmental stewardship, and building the game for the future.

As an Assistant Golf Course Operator, you will:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Evergreen Golf Course Pro Shop
  • Maintain pro shop merchandising, purchasing, and vendor relations
  • Perform broad-level customer service duties including responding to inquiries and complaints, completing sales and transactions, booking tee times, and ensuring customer retention
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, and training of seasonal sales and operations staff
  • Assist with preparing and monitoring the annual budget
  • Oversee and coordinate special events and related activities, including tournaments, leagues, and small group bookings
  • Oversee facility maintenance
  • Assist with staff management, coaching, and delegation
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Golf Course Operator

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of experience in hospitality or retail management.
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.

License/Certifications: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
