Mount Vernon Country Club is a premier private club in Alexandria, Virginia, situated on land once part of George Washingtonโ€™s historic Mount Vernon estate known as Union Farm. As the only country club in the United States selected as an Official Supporting Partner of America 250, MVCC offers a distinctive combination of championship golf, American history, tradition, and an exceptional private-club experience.

The First Assistant Golf Professional is a key leadership position within the Golf Operations team, working closely with the Head Golf Professional to execute the daily operation and consistently deliver an outstanding experience for members and guests. This individual will have meaningful responsibility across tournament operations, staff leadership and development, merchandising, member programming, outside operations, and overall golf services.

MVCC is proud to host premier regional and national competitions, including USGA Qualifiers, VSGA Championships, MAPGA events, and the 108th DC Amateur Championship. These events, combined with a robust member tournament calendar and active daily golf operation, provide the First Assistant with valuable handsโ€‘on experience in championship administration, tournament execution, team leadership, merchandising, and private club management.

The ideal candidate is a motivated, service-driven PGA Professional who wants to grow as a leader and advance within the golf industry. We are seeking someone who takes ownership, communicates effectively, leads by example, and has a genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable golf experiences.

The successful candidate will be a highly visible and engaged presence throughout the clubโ€”from the Golf Shop and first tee to the practice facilities, golf course, and member events. They will build meaningful relationships with members, support and develop the Golf Operations team, and continually look for opportunities to elevate the member experience.

This position is an opportunity for an aspiring golf professional to gain meaningful leadership experience while contributing to a golf operation committed to service, professionalism, growth, and excellence.
