Job description

Waialae Country Club is a private membership club, which provides its members with a championship golf course, dining services, health/recreational facilities and hosts the PGA Tour's Sony Open in Hawaii. Waialae Country Club is recognized as a Platinum Club of America, Honorable Mention Platinum Club of the World and is designated as a Distinguished Club with ELITE status by BoardRoom Magazine.

Position: Greenskeeper (Golf Course Maintenance)
Status: Full-Time (30+ hours per week)
Department: Grounds
Reports to: Golf Course Superintendent/Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintains golf course turf and bunkers.
  • Levels, rakes, weeds and maintains bunker floors, faces, and edges.
  • Trims sprinkler heads, tree bases, edges of ditches, boundaries, and fence lines.
  • Mows curb strips and trims hedges.
  • Fills irregularities in turf; and hand weeds greens.
  • Applies fertilizer and pesticide to grass, plants and trees.
  • Assists with golf course aeration.

Qualifications:
  • Must be able to safely operate landscaping tools, machinery and equipment.
  • Must be able to work outdoors, stand, and walk for extended periods of times.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Prior golf course maintenance experience preferred.
  • Must be available to work from 4:30am - 12:30pm including on weekends and holidays.
