Description
The Municipal Golf Association San Antonio (MGASA), also known as the Alamo City Golf Trail, is a non-profit corporation that has partnered with the City of San Antonio to operate the City's eight golf facilities and be stewards of municipal golf.
The Alamo City Golf Trail Model is based on the premise that golf operations employees are cross-trained in all facets of the operation.
Job Purpose:
The food and beverage server will maintain day to day food and beverage operations at his/her specific facility and work cooperatively with other departments. The position will promote an exceptional "golf experience" and provide excellent services and programs to all our customers.
Duties:
  • Maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees, management and all members of the public
  • Adherence to the established policies and procedures of the MGASA
  • Meet, greet and welcome prospective customers within one minute
  • Initiate and implement safety regulations and procedures
  • Show a passion for serving and provide excellent customer service to guests of the bar
  • Arrive to work on time, well-groomed and in a clean uniform
  • Follow opening list on preparing the bar for service and closing list for the breakdown of the restaurant
  • Maintain knowledge of menu, allergens and specials
  • Mention daily specials if applicable, answer questions and suggest menu items
  • Take guest orders and offer recommendations to enhance guest experience
  • Must be able to keep busy with sidework and cleaning duties
  • Verify accuracy of prices, state and federal taxes, tips and other charges on each receipt
  • Adherence to cash and system controls to ensure the safekeeping of assets and inventory
  • Understand basic money handling including cash, credit cards and starting a tab for patrons
  • Clean and clear tables of dishes including prebussing tables to ensure cleanliness
  • Flexible schedule due to fluctuating business levels and events
  • Maintain compliance with TABC Seller/Server guidelines
  • Advise supervisor of any feedback as soon as it occurs
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Skills/Qualifications:
Employer Paid TABC/Food Handler Certification
A minimum of one year in as a food and beverage server
Must be at least 18 years of age
Outgoing and service oriented personality
Must be able to communicate with management, kitchen, dining room and golf personnel
Must be able to reach, bend and frequently lift and carry up to 50lbs
Be able to stand for long periods of time in varying temperatures
